Coordinate with T-Shirts

May 3, 2026

T-Shirt Colors for the family lines are:

  • Aunt Ivy's family — [Red]

  • Uncle Wayne's family — [Yellow]

  • Aunt Noreen's family — [Blue]

  • Aunt Myrna's family — [Orange]

  • Aunt Jeneil's family — [Purple]

  • Aunt Berniece's family — [Green]

  • Uncle Glenn's family — [Gray]

Here are some ways you can coordinate:

  • We created an online store to purchase shirts with the logo already designed on the shirts here:
    https://kimber-reunion.printful.me/
(FYI: No markup on this store — you pay only the production cost, and items ship directly to you.)

  • Or If you have the means or have a local shop near you where you can make some shirts, we have attached the "Remember Your Roots" Logo (Created by Ryan Hansen) you can download and use to design your shirt/clothing yourself. Two file formats are attached: an SVG and a 300dpi PNG.

  • Or if you don’t want to spend any money (totally get that!) then just come wearing clothes you already own in your family colors.

  • Or honestly, just come as you are! Obviously wearing the colors is not required, just thought it would be fun to see the “Skittles” of colors for the family connections as we gather at the reunion!

Family Memories

One very clear childhood memory was at a Kimber Family Christmas party when grandma Kimber was still alive. We all gathered in a circle and sang 20 froggies for grandma. Also, after I was engaged to my husband, I found out he is a direct descendant of Aunt Annie, Nola’s oldest sister. Family search says we are third cousins once removed… 😂

I still have a memory of visiting Great Grandma Kimber in my early childhood! She was sitting in a chair and singing the 20 Froggies Song/Poem to my siblings and I when we were all little.

As an eighth year old, I cut my throat running full speed into a strand of barbed wire during the Grouse Creek deer hunt. Having no doctor close, they patched me up like pioneer days. A poltice and a piece of bed sheet. The scar lasted for years.

I spent many years deer hunting in the South Red Butte area with my family growing up. In 2010 it rained so much we called it the Mud Hunt. Many people were trying to get off the mountain and down to the gravel road but would get stuck so my nephew Jeremy Hansen had a Chevy truck he used to pull many people out with. We lost track of how many people he pulled out, but that red mud was everywhere. We purchased the truck from Jeremy in 2013 and every time we had to work on the underside of the truck we would find mud that was still caked on. Later, when we had to get rid of the truck in 2023 it still had mud in places that we had tried to clean. My boys and I still laugh about it every time we think about it.

Grandpa in overalls using his pocket knife to cut up a raw potato to give me my first taste of one. Grandma's homemade rolls, fresh out of the oven. Aunt Ivy's cookie and big hugs for every visit. Also how her house was always clean and smelled like her pink soap. Getting nearly bucked off Aunt Noreen's and Uncle Gorden's horse...she was mystified that horse had never responded thus. Aunt Myrna teaching me to make caramel and Christmas candy. Giving me leadership example and advice when she served as RS president. Aunt Berniece's never ending laundry piles Tina needed help with before we could play. Also my precious visits with Aunt Berniece in the hospital before she died and how she helped me make a quilt. Uncle Wayne's laugh and sense of humor. Later in life visiting my house he asked for a glass of water saying, "I have to take my pill cuz I'm loony!" And how he never stopped laughing and loving. Aunt Janille's pristine house and yard. Spending Christmas there, feeling free and happy. Her care for me when I fell from the playhouse ladder. Dad (Glenn) - a life of love, service, and teachings. Tender memories all my life.

1967 -- from my journal: (We had driven in a borrowed car to Utah from Biloxi, Mississippi, when Glenn was in the Air Force there, to be with our families for Christmas.) "Christmas at Mom and Dad Kimber's was a delight. And wouldn't you know--another opportunity presented itself to Glenn for a project! We had no money to spend on each other for Christmas, as it all went towards the trip; so with the little we had left, we bought presents for his folks. We got them a tree and a whole bunch of little goodies and wrapped them up. All this on Christmas Eve day. I remember so well coming out of the Ogden K-Mart with a couple of sacks of things for the folks. Well, they were pretty ho-hum about Christmas until we put all the things under the new tree for them! Why, they were so excited, Mother said the next morning that she "didn't sleep too well last night." [Too many sugar plums dancing in her head?] In the morning they were like little kids. Mom came traipsin' out in her nightie without her gummers, grinning toothless from ear to ear. 'Come on, Dad,' she said. 'Come and let's jist see what Shanta Clauzh brought us thish morning!" Glenn nearly wept with happiness. It was so fun to give rather than receive this year. It was our happiest Christmas." And earlier that day we had announced the big news of our first little one on the way (Candace). My journal says, "It really touched them. Mom cried and gave Glenn a great big hug." One more entry: "Glenn's sisters gave me a baby shower while we were in Ogden. I was so disappointed that I wasn't even showing yet! How funny to have a baby shower and have such a flat tummy! So I bought a pink plaid maternity dress and tried to look real miserable and pregnant. Ho Ho. I never did show until I was almost 6 months along. The shower was really nice, and I recorded in the baby book all the nice things people gave me."

As Wayne Kimber’s first-born child, we shared a special bond. After my parents’ divorce and due to logistics, I was raised by my mother and stepfather. Kevin, my younger brother, was raised by my father and stepmother. After 20 years apart, the reunion between me, my father and brother was very emotional and heartwarming. After our reunion, my father made a special effort to be at our life events which included my wedding to Watson, Kevin and Amy’s wedding, Kevin and Bryan’s and Kevin’s return from active duty. I love family events like holiday meals, dinner at Maddox’s Restaurant (One of Dad’s favorite restaurants), Dad & Mom’s surprise 50th Wedding event at a park. In Oregon, Dad’s favorite restaurant was Portland City Grill which sits on the 30th floor of the US Bank tower and has the best view of the city. His favorite dessert after the meal was fresh baked cookies with ice cream. I will always cherish our time together like going to the farmers market to buy fresh berries to eat with our ice cream, taking long drives to visit scenic places but mostly just being together. Some of the traits that I inherited from my parents are unconditional love and support of family, respect and family traditions. Love, Debbie Kimber Russell I loved Wayne very much, and one of my most cherished memories was on April 25, 1981, when he gave his daughter, Debbie, to me in marriage. I not only gained a beautiful wife, but also a wonderful father-in-law and Kimber family. Watson Russell One of my favorite memories with Grandpa Kimber was when he and Grandma took Kevin and I to the Great Salt Lake. We got out of the truck to look at the lake. Even though it was windy and cold, what I remember most was how beautiful it was. The day was special not only because it was one of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen, but mostly because I was with my grandparents. Bryan Russell “Little Dickens” One summer, Bryan and I went to stay with my Aunt Vicky in Ogden. It was a difficult time for us because it was the first time we had been away from home. I cried and called my mom almost every night because I missed my parents so much. Finally, Grandpa and Grandma Kimber picked us up and took us to the family cabin for a few days. I had so much fun playing ping pong and other games with my cousins and grandparents. I especially enjoyed four-wheeling with Casey. I wasn’t sad anymore, and it remains one of my favorite memories. Another memory of Grandpa Kimber was playing basketball outside their home and Grandpa drop kicking the ball and nailing the shot. My fondest memory is of Grandpa Kimber holding my daughter, Ellie, after she was born. Kevin Russell

I have been blessed with a lifetime of memories with the Kimber family. My dad, Scott, always made sure the connection to our Kimber roots stayed strong. Some of my fondest childhood memories come from family trips to Utah, where we stayed with relatives. I remember staying at Aunt Myrna and Uncle Pete’s home, enjoying fresh scones. I remember watching Stargate with Cousin Rochelle and Wayne's family. And the visits with Aunt Ivy and Uncle Jack, exploring their “swimming pool” and the nearby train tracks, her cookie recipes and the countless phone calls Aunt Ivy and I had over her roll recipe and updates on my family. I can still picture sitting on the floor at Great-Grandma Nola Kimber’s house, listening to her stories. Then running to Aunt Bernice and Uncle Roy’s home, in the summer heat, convinced it might be the end of me! I also remember finding a black lava rock at Grandma Kimber’s house. She let me keep it, and I treasured that little rock until high school. Visits with Uncle Wayne and Aunt Joanne, Uncle Wayne's humor was never dry to me. He made me feel like the most important person in the world and I would always feel better after a good laugh with him. I remember trying to race through their screen door before it swung back and hit me from behind. Later, I loved visiting them on their mission in Washington with Grandma Noreen and Grandpa Gordon. They always wanted to hear about my young married life, my family, and my plans for the future. Some of my favorite memories happened behind the scenes. My mom spent countless hours editing family videos, and I often sat nearby listening to footage filled with Kimber voices, stories, laughter, and family history. I also grew up admiring many of my cousins, who seemed so cool to me then! I loved playing on Brad and Laurie’s waterslide, staying up late playing card games with Kelly Keyes at reunions, and clay pigeon shooting. I remember seeing one of the Peterson boys’ names etched into a glass window at Aunt Myrna’s house and thinking it was the greatest thing ever. Cousin Brad working on my electrical at my Provo home. Other snapshots remain frozen in time: attending Girls Camp in Washington with Jamie, Jeannie’s daughter, and being amazed that she had a cordless curling iron; seeing Russ arrive home in his football uniform at Aunt Bernice’s house; and watching my dad proudly wear Uncle Bob’s construction hat while helping with projects. Sitting at Maddox's recently with Aunt Jeneil and hearing her story from her mission was just a joy. I also remember the times Kimber family members traveled to Washington to visit us. My parents always made time for family, and I could see how much those relationships meant to them. While many kids my age were off playing, I often preferred to sit and listen in on the conversations.
